Engagement: Part 1 (hantaran)



Salam :D

Dah 5bulan bertunang tapi tak buat pun any review on majlis bertunang haritu. Haha. Mari lah start reviewing sikit-sikit. So today..... HANTARAN...

Idea I memang untuk letak semua hantaran dalam boxes. Memang tradition I think. Sebab along I dulu pun semua hantaran tunang & nikah dalam kotak. Mula-mula I bertunang ni memang takde tema. Pakai belasah je. Apa yang ada, semua main tangkap muat.

Tapi suddenly ada tema... hewhewhew. Sebab time beli kotak tu, kotak tu polkadot & sangat colorful. So I & mama pergi kedai ribbon & bunga bawak kotak tu sekali, nak mix & match. Tetiba terambil ribbon warna pink & green. Memang matching sangat dengan kotak tu. Dari situlah tiba-tiba engagement I ada tema :D Pink+green!

Yang ni gambar hantaran yang tak ditutup. Ingatkan taknak tunjuk, tapi semua pun benda-benda biasa je. So I rasa tak apa untuk tunjuk. Kenapa beriya taknak tunjuk pada tetamu masa bertunang? Seboleh-bolehnya tidak mahu perasaan riak timbul bila ada orang tengok barang-barang hantaran kalau ada yg branded etc... Ataupun, taknak ada tetamu yang mengata itu dan ini kalau barang-barang hantaran adalah tidak seberapa dan cheapskate. Oh you get what I mean kan? Tapi, yang ni I tunjuk kat blog sebab I rasa barang-barang hantaran I setakat makanan & baju. Oh sebenarnya ada tujuh dulang tapi gambar di atas ada 6 je. hehe. Tatau kenapa gambar tak cukup -_-"

Untuk barang-barang hantaran, hanya chocolates & cake sahaja disponsor oleh kakak-kakak. Yang lain adalah sendirian berhad. Kotak tu I beli kat daiso, RM5/kotak. Sangatlah murah. Yang bunga & ribbon semua I tak ingat I berabis berapa. Tapi total hias hantaran adalah tidak sampai RM100 :D Banyak berhabis pada isi kotak-kotak tu je. hikhik.

When Encik H proposed back in 2009, first thing popped in my mind (other than excited to tell my parents coz I was staying in Korea at that time) was, I WANT A BEAUTIFUL WEDDING. With beautiful families, beautiful friends & great decorations. And one thing for sure, I want to be my own wedding planner eventhough parents hired a wedding planner for my along's wedding back in 2008. The wedding planner did a great job. Okay fine, not gonna be too ambitious. If parents want to hire a wedding planner again this time, it's up to them. I tak jadi wedding planner pun takpelah. I nak jadi decorator. Berangan much? :p

Phewhhh. At last.... We (parents and I) have settled with our ballroom. Here, 'we' always refer to parents & I okay. Coz Mr Fiancee is not around. He will only be around 3weeks before our solemnization. So, Mr Fiancee is not-so-important person in this blog (sorry mokmok!) until we get solemnized :D

We should have confirmed my reception hall 3weeks ago but some problems just got in our way, so we actually postponed my side's reception from 2nd September to 8th September 2012. I've actually decided to do our reception at The Club @ Bukit Utama on the 2nd until we had to change to the 8th. So I called The Club to book on the 8th but unfortunately, it was booked by a Malay couple, months ago. Haihhhh...

Hall-hunting AGAINNNN! *longggg sighhhhhh*

So here's another list of halls that I've surveyed...

1. Holiday Villa, Subang Jaya
I've talked about Holiday Villa in my previous post. Damn expensive! Unless you opt for a small event (300-500), I would suggest this place. At first their wedding planning team told me the cost is around RM90/pax. Then when I got an official email, the package stated RM103/pax. We're gonna have 1000++ pax. So its a NO!


2. De Palma Hotel, Shah Alam
You can google for their ballroom's images. Sangat cantik seriously!! The cheapest package is RM60/pax. But for this price, better buat dekat Dewan Merak Kayangan. teehee. Dewan Merak Kayangan & Dewan Perdana Felda are not in our list coz agak jauh from Subang Jaya & the traffics are horrible. Okbye.


3. Kelab Shah Alam
Quite old hall but the interior is still nice. They used to have this package of renting the ballroom only for RM8000+6% tax. But sekarang tak ada *sigh*. You have to use their in-house catering. The package starts from RM47/pax.


4. Intekma, Shah Alam
My mum went to Intekma for lunch with her friends. She didn't ask much but the package starts from RM40/pax I think. Price wise is okay but I don't really fancy that place for my wedding reception :p


5. Dewan Guthrie, Bukit Jelutong
This hall is so not in my list (bukan sombong okay), but I've told my parents that I really want a banquet-style hall. Preferably fully-carpeted hall with airconds and nice interior (so that I dont really have to spend on decorations :p). Tapi I pergi jugak tengok the hall, not bad. A very small hall tapi dekat luar hall pun boleh ada tables. A lot of decos need to be done. A LOTTT! Sewa dewan = RM1300 without tables & chairs. Sgt affordable kan?

6. Dewan Raja Muda Musa, Shah Alam
This hall is sooooooooooo huge!! 4-5times bigger than Dewan Guthrie. Harga sewa pun 4-5times expensive than Dewan Guthrie. Paling murah RM6000++ including tables&chairs. The dewan itself is RM4000, wajib bayar cleaning RM1000. So total dah RM5000. And wajib amik tables&chairs dari diorang. Paling kurang total RM6000, belum add table/chair covers, projector, white screen etc..

7. Dewan Felda Gemilang Yayasan, Kelana Jaya
The management&caterer for this hall is the same as the one who handles Dewan Perdana Felda & Dewan Merak Kayangan. Gemilang Yayasan ni sangat affordable. The cheapest is RM32/pax for the first 500pax, RM25/subsequent pax. I've made a booking for the 9th Sept. Tapi sebenarnya I taknak this hall sebab nanti groom's side punya reception dekat sini. Takkan dua2 reception nak buat tempat sama -_-"


SO? Dekat mana my reception nanti??

Mama & I berdoa sangat2 nak ballroom The Club because it was our first choice. Rezeki kami bila ada orang tarik diri on the 8th Sept tu. ALHAMDULILLAH :D :D :D

Victorian Ballroom, Holiday Villa Hotel, Subang Jaya

Salam..

Today I'm gonna talk about Victorian Ballroom. I live in Subang Jaya. SS14 to be specific. Holiday Villa Hotel is located at SS12. So sangatlahhhhh dekat. Sangat okay kalau my reception buat dekat Victorian Ballroom ni tau! Holiday Villa ada beberapa ballroom:

1. Vintage Ballroom.
I've attended a friend's wedding at Vintage Ballroom before. Ada I post a few photos in my previous post. So u can just scroll down to look at the photos. Boleh muat nearly 1000pax.

2. Classics Ballroom
Can hold up to 500pax at a time. But they usually give u Classics 2 sekali. Classics 2 can fit in 150pax. So total up boleh lah fit in 650pax.

3. Victorian Ballroom
This is the best ballroom I've ever been to! sangat cantik+ada garden tepi ballroom tu which they'll block for ur event. The ballroom itself can fit in 390pax at a time, but they'll give u Victorian 2 as well which can fit 100guests. Even the garden/courtyard boleh letak guest tables! So I think Victorian ballroom+courtyard+Victorian 2 can fit approximately 600pax. Just nice for a buffet-style reception like mine!!

And guess what! The garden pun sangat cantik! Its very victorian style+ala2 vintage gitu. I boleh bayangkan macamana rupa wedding I kalau buat dekat situ :D The garden/courtyard is something like this but wayyyy nicer in real life. hewhewhew!





Okay, after dah memuji-muji Victorian Ballroom, mari I bagitau the cost if u wanna have ur reception there. Ehem2 *clear throat*

FOR LUNCH (BUFFET), THE PRICE IS RM90++/PAX! YES, YOU HEARD ME RIGHT!!EYH, YOU READ THIS RIGHT!

But well, hotel food kot, so dont be surprised lah kan price range dia macamtu. Menu dia, 1 lauk ayam, 1 lauk daging, 1 lauk ikan, 1 lauk seafood (udang/sotong), 1 sayur, 1 dessert, 1 type of drink... And decorations are included, worry not :) They even provide u with bridal suite & two extra suites for bride+groom's parents. oh oh oh! termasuk pelamin, ice-carving, door gifts for all guest. Kiranya EVERY SINGLE THING is included.

TAPIIIII! kira-kira balik, kalau 1000guests dah RM90000!! Botak kepalo abah den! Ada lg 3siblings tak kahwin lagi ni. hewhewhew!

Maka, renung-renungkanlah....

ps: i dah request custom package dekat Victorian Ballroom. Still waiting for the new quotation :)

oh busy!

Salam...

I haven't had the time to update my blog yet. Been busy throughout November. Just got back from Langkawi.. bukan bercuti okay! Went there for a conference. I kerja apa sebenarnya?

Okay. I sebenarnya a 3rd sem master student dekat UPM. I buat research. InsyaAllah kalau takda masalah, I grad tahun depan. Ameen. So sekarang busy kejar habiskan labwork/research so that nanti by the time nak kahwin, I akan tinggal with tulis thesis je. Taknak dah kahwin nanti busy pergi lab.

I ambil course chemistry. Research I related to nanoscience+pharmaceutical chemistry gittew. I tengah try develop a new drug delivery system for cancer. Kiranya buat ubat untuk cancer lah. Amboihh, bunyi macam hebat konon. Belum tentu the drug yang I develop boleh pakai kat patients kan. Semuanya dengan keizinan Allah jugak kan :)

Eyh, termerepek pasal kerja pulak. Yup, I ni seorang yg membosankan. Dah lah nerd pulak tu :p

Childhood friend's wedding

I just got back from my childhood friend's wedding dekat Vintage Ballroom, Holiday Villa Hotel & Suites, Subang Jaya. Reception Fatimah Zaharah! How cool akad nikah & reception on 11.11.11 :) Bila attend wedding macamni, macam reunion dengan kawan-kawan zaman hingusan dulu. Zaman kejar-kejar, main pepsi cola, police & thief, main tanak kawan tanak kawan.. Haha. Good old days. Ada kawan2 yang dah 12years tak jumpa! I love weddingsss!

I've been busy these couple of weeks. Busy juggling life between research, classes and wedding preparations. I'm still a student btw. A master student, trying so hard to finish my research before my solemnization so that I can be a stay-at-home wife while writing my thesis. teehee.

Okay, mari kembali ke tujuan sebenar post ni :p

RECEPTION HALLS. Yeay!

So my side still mencari dewan yang sesuai. Banyak dewan yang I nak dah fully booked. Sungguh sedih begini. Padahal reception lagi 11 months. nangissss T___T

I akan senaraikan beberapa hall yang I dah usha and bakal usha. Ada gambar dewan2 yang I dah pergi survey sendiri tapi cable camera pulak tak jumpa. haish. Terpaksa google je. Maap la ye. My list of reception hall ni lebih kepada dewan bankuet (carpeted and nice interior), but I'll include a few other non-banquet halls

Kadar sewa (siang) - RM4800
Kapasiti - 800 orang
Sewa termasuk - 50 meja, 500 kerusi bankuet, PA system (2mics)

No outside caterer. Must use Kuzie Catering under Pak Engku. Pak Engku ni wedding planner for Dato' Siti Nurhaliza and Ning Baizura.

My parents tak bagi buat my reception jauh dari rumah (we live in Subang Jaya btw.). Tapi ni ada a short list of dewan yang agak jauh from Subang Jaya/Shah Alam. I paling suka Dewan Seri Siantan. Dari last year I cakap kat my mum yang I nak buat dekat situ tapi my mum awal2 lagi dah cakap NO! T___T

This is not a carpeted hall. The floor is made of parquet. This hall is quite new.

Dewan Seri Siantan, Putrajaya
Setahu I, kadar sewa dia RM4500 tapi I dengar untuk next year punya reception, kadar sewa dah jadi RM8500.

I dah book Dewan Jubli Perak, Shah Alam untuk majlis pada 15 Sept 2012 tapi tu bukan tarikh yang my parents request. My parents nak 1/2/8/9 Sept 2012. Tapi semua dah penuh. 15 Sept je yang ada. I main book je dari takde langsung. My first choice sekarang The Club, Bukit Utama. Nak confirmkan dengan diorang tarikh. Kalau available, I akan terus book :D

Ehem. Engaged!

Salam

Alhamdulillah. Dah 2bulan lebih jadi tunang orang. Buat masa ini, siapakah gerangan Encik Tunang akan dirahsiakan. Sampai bila? Sampai dah nak dekat kahwin nanti. Manalah tahu nanti ada orang tersangkut pulak kang lepas I dah tempek muka Encik Tunang dekat sini kan. Niaya i !! ( ehh.. ehh..eh..)
